General Job Description

Body Expressions is a community of helping professionals working to enhance the mental well-being of adolescents, adults, families and couples in Vancouver, WA and greater Portland, OR. We are trauma-trained, take a non-diet and Health at Every Size approach to food and weight, and help people heal the underlying emotional and relational challenges to their food and body image concerns. We help people develop strong roots for personal growth and welcome people of all sizes, races, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
 
Clinical therapist will provide outpatient individual and group therapy to clients of Body Expressions, with locations in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA. Clinical therapy services include treatment primarily of adults and adolescents. Treatment specialties focus on eating disorders and body image concerns. We also help clients heal the underlying emotional challenges and traumas that lead to body image and eating disorder concerns. You will work with a large variety of client populations and challenges. 
 
Dietitians and other treatment providers support adult and adolescent clients with eating disorders and body image concerns We all work from a Health At Every Size approach to weight and help move clients toward healing their relationship with food and with themselves. 
 
Reports to: Owner and/or Clinical Director.
 
Minimum Qualification Requirements for Therapists:
  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work; and
  • Active, unrestricted license (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT or LPC) in the State of Oregon (Associates and Students may also apply). A copy must be provided to Body Expressions
  • Available to hold at least 20 patient sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Body Expressions

Minimum Qualification Requirements for Dietitian: 

  • Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Licensed Dietitian
  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in dietetics or related fields; and
  • Active, unrestricted license in the State of Oregon and/or Washington. A copy must be provided to Body Expressions
  • Proficiency in the nutrition care process
  • Clinical Dietetic Experience 
  • Available to hold 20-25 client sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Body Expressions
Other Qualification Preferences:
  • Prior experience in a private practice setting.
  • At least three years’ experience post-unrestricted licensure.
  • Have at least one niche market for counseling/dietitian services (i.e., teens, trauma, EMDR, etc.).

Hours:
Work hours and schedule may vary depending on client and Body Expressions needs. Hours may include some nights and/or weekends. Provider is not guaranteed a minimum number of clients or sessions per week. However, it is expected that Provider will be available to hold at least 20 to 25 patient sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Body Expressions. Patient sessions are held in the offices of Body Expressions (or via telehealth).
 
Salary Range:
  • Therapists: $3000-$6000 per month, depending on the number of sessions
  • Dietitians: $2500-$5000 per month, depending on the number of sessions

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform on-site and/or telehealth services to clients of Body Expressions, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
  2. Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
  3. Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Body Expressions.
  4. Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Body Expressions website. Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such clients.
  5. Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.
  6. Timely complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Body Expressions or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion (by Friday of each week). Keep patient files accurate and up to date.
  7. Charge and collect payments from clients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established by Body Expressions.
  8. Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Body Expressions.
  9. Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Food Is Not The Enemy. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
  10. Other duties which may by assigned by Body Expressions.

Body Expressions provides many opportunities for trainings about eating disorders, body image, counseling skills, HIPAA and other security, and other educational and career development. For those working toward licensure, supervision is provided by an experienced therapist.

Adolescent / Adult Therapist

Body Expressions currently has an opening for a Licensed mental health therapists (LCSW, LMHC, PhD, or PsyD), Associates, and Students to provide counseling services for adolescents, adults and/or families. This is a full-time position (at least 20 clinical hours per week) in an outpatient group practice setting in the Vancouver and Portland area. You will be paid a percentage of fees collected rather than a salary.
