Johanna is a queer, neurodivergent, Latinx licensed mental health counselor associate who works with adult individuals and couples. They received their Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Santa Clara University. They earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Spanish with a minor in Education from the University of California, Davis.
Jo is passionate about helping individuals and couples heal their inner child wounds and intergenerational trauma. Jo empowers clients to create safety and learn how to radically self-love. Jo has a special interest in working with intersections of complex trauma, neurodivergence, and eating disorders. Jo blends together psychoanalytic, internal family systems, and interpersonal experiential frameworks, as well as EMDR Therapy. Jo’s work is informed by the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES). Jo implements LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex, kink, body, and poly positive framework in their therapy. They are bilingual and can provide counseling services in Spanish.
Jo is originally from California and now calls the pacific northwest her home. In their free time you’ll find Jo roller skating, hugging trees, or getting lost in books. They also enjoy collecting crystals and practicing tarot as a form of meditation.
