Clarice Dodd, BS

Student Therapist Vancouver and Portland

Clarice is a student therapist intern pursuing a Master of Arts in professional mental health counseling specializing in addictions and eating disorders from Lewis and Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. Clarice received her Bachelor of Science in psychology and minor in sociology from Iowa State University in May 2020. Clarice completed her practicum experience at the Lewis and Clark Community Counseling Center where she worked with a diverse population of adult and adolescent clients struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addictions, and trauma. She also completed a secondary practicum experience at Monte Nido residential treatment center for eating disorders.

Clarice strives to create a warm, collaborative environment where clients feel cared for and are free to be their authentic selves. As someone who has been in recovery for several years, Clarice is committed to helping clients heal and experience the liberating power of making peace with their bodies and their relationship with food and movement. Clarice is currently exploring her therapeutic approach, however, her framework is rooted in Health at Every Size (HAES) and she finds herself drawn to narrative therapy, humanistic, and mindfulness approaches. Additionally, her approach is integrated with a multicultural and social justice orientation, which means that sessions will naturally include clients’ social locations and cultural identities and how they impact the broader contexts of their lived experience. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and utilizes interventions that will meet the diverse needs of individual clients while highlighting sources of strength and resiliency.

Clarice grew up in Maryland before moving away to attend college and graduate school. In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature and going on hikes, cuddling with her dog Scooby, listening to music, and dancing.

Clarice is supervised by Michelle Roberts, MA, LPC and Anne Cuthbert, MA, LPC, LMHC
