Anne Morgyn, BA

Student Intern Vancouver and Portland

Anne Morgyn is a student intern with Lewis & Clark working towards her certification in eating disorders and is a proud graduate of Portland State University with a BA in Child & Family Studies. In her 10+ years working as a licensed massage therapist, they developed such deep respect and compassion for all that our bodies hold while navigating a culture that can be so harmful. Anne states, “it’s an honor to walk beside you in what might be your own complicated journey with your unique body. I’ve been there, I get it. It can be messy and hard, but coming home to body acceptance is so worth it and you do not have to do this alone.”

As Anne develops her approach, she draws from Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, Somatic theories, Depth Psychology, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Their hope is for your time together to be a space where you feel safe, supported, and heard- where all parts of you are welcome. Just like there is no “one size fits all” approach to our bodies, the same can be said for therapy. Anne is comfortable finding “out of the box” approaches and getting creative! Your story and needs are unique and she enjoys working together to find an approach that will work for you.

Anne is a lifelong learner who believes in walking the talk. They use a HAES (health at every size) approach and is working on becoming a Body Trust provider as well as completing training in trauma healing. It is important to her to actively work towards dismantling systems that create harm. Anne strives to be anti-racist, as well as LGBTQ+ and ability-inclusive. She wholeheartedly believes that you are the expert of your experience and your identities and she wants you to feel safe to share and celebrate that in any way you choose.

In Anne’s free time, they enjoy communing with nature, crafting, adventurous eating, joyous movement, and goofing around with her dogs and kids. She grew up in the Bay Area but has lived in Portland for 14 years and is one of those weirdos who look forward to a rainy day with a hot cup of tea!
