Amelia (they/she) is a student therapist intern currently working on their master of arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University, Seattle. They are also in the process of becoming certified as a Body Trust Provider by the Center for Body Trust in Portland. Amelia realized her passion for helping others through counseling in the process of recovering from her own eating disorder and trauma with the help of an incredible multidisciplinary treatment team in Portland.

Amelia enjoys working to create a collaborative, compassionate, and healing space for individuals and groups of folks of all cultural backgrounds and body shapes, sizes, and abilities – especially those who are fat or larger-bodied. Their approach is rooted in liberatory, social justice, and trauma-informed frameworks, and draws on elements of feminist, relational-cultural, narrative, and parts work (e.g., Internal Family Systems) therapy theories. Amelia also utilizes the Health at Every Size paradigm.

Amelia is a white, large fat, queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent, and currently able-bodied person who lives in Portland, Oregon. They were born and raised in Texas and have lived in the Midwest. In her free time, Amelia loves hiking, camping, reading, crafting, cooking delicious meals, and spending lots of time with her partner and pets.
